Why a Website Needs Maintenance

A website is not a one-off purchase; it is a piece of software running in a hostile environment. The platform it sits on ships security patches, the plugins and libraries it depends on release updates, browsers change, and the content ages. Every plan starts with an audit and onboarding: we review how the site is built, lock down the obvious security gaps, and set up off-site backups and monitoring before anything else. From there the work is proactive rather than reactive — we apply core, plugin and dependency updates on a schedule, test them so an update never silently breaks the site, and continuously watch uptime, security and performance so problems surface on our screen, not in your inbox from an annoyed customer.

On top of that you get a real support relationship. A named team handles fixes and small content or design changes within agreed response times, and each month you receive a plain-English report on what was updated, what was monitored and what we recommend next. The result is a site that not only stays healthy but gradually improves, instead of decaying between big, expensive projects.

Plans, Platforms and What It Costs

We maintain the stacks we build on — WordPress and WooCommerce, custom React and Next.js applications, and Shopify — and we are happy to take over a site we did not build, starting with an audit so we know exactly what we are inheriting. Plans scale with the site: a small brochure site needs far less attention than a busy e-commerce store, and we price accordingly rather than forcing everyone onto the same tier.

Maintenance is billed as a fixed monthly fee with a clear scope, starting from around €100 a month for a simple brochure site in Ireland, with most business sites on €150–€500 a month and larger or transactional ones above that. There is no lock-in and no surprise invoicing; if a bigger piece of work falls outside the plan, we quote it up front. The goal is predictable cost and a site you never have to worry about — so your attention goes to your business, not your website’s plumbing.
